In the Spirit of
Truth & Reconciliation
At IT&P, we strive to embody the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation in all our interactions. We believe this begins with listening and learning from Indigenous community members. In addition to listening, we strive to be educated on Indigenous history and issues. We acknowledge that education around Indigenous experience often lacks insights into strengths of Indigenous peoples and the beauty of their culture. At IT&P we are privileged to connect with many Indigenous peoples who share these cultural strengths with us. We acknowledge that reconciliation is an ongoing process and that everyone has a role to play.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action
Integrated Therapies and Performance reaffirms its duty to heed the Indigenous voices expressed in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action.

Call 18
We call upon the federal, provincial, territorial, and Aboriginal governments to acknowledge that the current state of Aboriginal health in Canada is a direct result of previous Canadian government policies, including residential schools, and to recognize and implement the health-care rights of Aboriginal people as identified in international law, constitutional law, and under the Treaties.
Call 19
We call upon the federal government, in consultation with Aboriginal peoples, to establish measurable goals to identify and close the gaps in health outcomes between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities, and to publish annual progress reports and assess long-term trends. Such efforts would focus on indicators such as: infant mortality, maternal health, suicide, mental health, addictions, life expectancy, birth rates, infant and child health issues, chronic diseases, illness and injury incidence, and the availability of appropriate health services.
Call 22
We call upon those who can effect change within the Canadian health-care system to recognize the value of Aboriginal healing practices and use them in the treatment of Aboriginal patients in collaboration with Aboriginal healers and Elders where requested by Aboriginal patients.
Help us Grow
At Integrated Therapies and Performance we are always interested in improving. We acknowledge that in our journey alongside Indigenous clients and communities that we are likely to get some things wrong. If you have experiences which you would like to share, constructive criticisms, or ideas for creating cultural safety we would love to hear them. Please reach us at Info@Huntpsychologicalservices.com
